Huge backstage confrontation between top stars, Angle/Malenko, RAW Preview for 8/11, Live Event Results, more

Welcome back to WWERP Rumors! And here is what to expect for RAW on August 11:

- The return of Hulk Hogan, and I was told that a night-long celebration will occur. I was also told that there will be a major segment with Hulk Hogan and Alan Snyder about Hogan's future in the company, that will somehow involve Zack Poe.

- I was told about that contiuining his role as CEO, Snyder will announce a "series of" matches for the Shock Chamber. It's safe to assume that the concept will basically be multiple matches between the people in the chamber, and the person racking up the most wins gets to enter the Shock Chamber last.

- Of course, the follow-up to the well-received segment last week between Kane and Zack Poe. I didn't get an exact idea of what to expect from my source, because script changes happen hourly, but I guess I can tell you that the match stipulation for their match at SummerSlam will be announced.

What do I think of this...well, it should be a jammed pack RAW and I don't advise you miss it. I was personally disappointed in some segments last week, but the show last week was good, it's what I expected from a first show. See, WWE is better at going out with a bang than going in with a bang. All the good stuff usually comes mid-season (Season IV, NWO, Season III, Snyder vs Taker feud, ect) so I didn't expect much.

Two people who have been getting a lot of praise after their ECW match this week are Kurt Angle and Dean Manlenko. People expected a good match, but not a great one like they got on ECW, mostly due to Malenko's age. Malenko received a lot of preps complementing how he was able to go 20+ minutes with Angle at the age of 54. The match was named match of the week on several wrestling websites, and Angle went on Twitter to post it was one of his best matches in his career. WWE is looking to have a series of matches between the two, possibly culminating at WrestleMania (which is also rumored to be in Angles home state, more on that soon). Also, WWE is looking to give Angle another push, while keeping Malenko to put more people over and pull off more 5-star matches with younger talent and other veterans.
My opinion? I, BRUCE, personally loved the match and I can't wait to see what both Angle and Malenko do next. I think Angle has needed a legends push for a long time, considering guys like Cena, Alan, The Rock, ect have already gotten it. I would like to see Malenko tango with guys like Chandler, Star, Poe, and Saxby. He could make those guys look golden.

WWE is expected to officially announce their deal with Sony and more details on it in the coming weeks.

I got word of a big backstage argument between Alan Snyder, Matthew Ehlert, and Hayden Saxby. Appearently Ehlert was scheduled for a segment with Hayden on RAW, but actually skipped out on the show and decided to bail on it. When he came back the next day to the locker room, he got a mouthful from Saxby. Saxby ranted on about Matthew being a liablity and his constant missing shows lately during the off-season. Alan walked in and told both men to calm down, and all 3 of them talked it out before Matthew threw an insult involving Hayden "kissing his way up" to the top. Appearently Matthew explained him taking time off due to fatigue from the previous season and how he was forced to work off-season matches against his current contract. Hayden shouted more slurs and insults at Ehlerts way. Paul Star was in the next room, so he burst in and told all 3 of them to shut the hell up. Star and Hayden got into it for a minute before Alan finally shut the argument down.

My thoughts? Uhh, pretty insane. Ehlert missing out on shows due to "fatigue" is a pretty cowardly move. You've got guys like Alan who have been working non-stop for the past 4 seasons, with NO breaks whatsoever. Snyder worked the most matches in a single off-season this year (25). Maybe Ehlert just isn't ready for the top spot like Hayden said? I'm going to side with Hayden on this one. Fatigue, who cares? It's wrestling. You're pretty much "fatigued" after every match. I sense Matthew's future being into question after this, and it's probably the one reason why the rumors of him taking Poe's place are BS.

Eellis has granted his first ever wish for the Make-A-Wish foundation today. He let a young Welsh boy wear the European Title around his waist.
